Reg. $29.99 / Sale $19.99 Save 33% So yes, I have a vested reason in selling this wine. But I am being perfectly honest - I have not had a better bottle of wine under $20 this year. For me, this wine hits all the sweet spots. It balances rich, lush fruit with bright acidity and fine tannins, making it well suited for a wide range of foods. I've drunk through 18 bottles so far and have paired it with pizza, burgers, steaks (hanger, flank and NY Strip), grilled chicken, pork, sushi, grilled sausages and cedar planked salmon. And a couple just sitting on the porch... |

From the Jumping Goat Vineyard within the St. Helena area, the 2007 Metisse Cabernet Sauvignon Jumping Goat Vineyard (a 400-case blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot) is a brilliant wine. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by a classic nose of spring flowers, black currants, coffee beans, smoke, and forest floor. Full-bodied with silky tannins, a voluptuous texture, and real opulence... |

92 pts Wine Advocate / 92 pts Int'l Wine Cellar [Michael] Re-discovering the wines of Bethel Heights while in Oregon this June was one of the great fruits yielded from Pinot Camp 2010. These are superlative bottles we’ve sold in the past, but perhaps because they have been so good for so long (founded in 1984, one of the sacred cows of the Willamette Pinot community) they had fallen a bit off our radar. What made me fall in love with Bethel Heights all over |

September 16th, 2010
Rhone Rangers and More! The weather’s starting to cool, but around here Thursdays are getting hotter! For our third September tasting, we’re coming home to California, but saving Cabs, Chards, and Pinots for a bit later. This tasting highlights some star producers focusing on Rhone varietals, a new wave of so-called “Rhone Rangers.” Not only do we get to explore different grapes and regions, this also allows us to bring in and pour some juice that has completely blown us away but didn’t fit into any of our shelf spots. We’ve got a luscious Viognier from Jemrose, made by Michael Browne of Kosta Browne, and a wild white Schmitty and I flipped over a while back called Veritable Quandry. For reds we start with a silly deal on a Mouvedre-based blend that bowled over some top customers this past winter, than a Syrah made by CHWC-fave Joey Tensley with Colson Canyon fruit, and maybe the most lush and beautiful Cali Grenache I can remember, from new producer Broc Cellars in Sonoma. - Jemrose Viognier Egret Pond Vineyard Bennett Valley 2008 – 90 pts Int’l Wine Cellar - Sale $31.49 – Save 20%
