Allan Scott - Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2022
That Allan Scott has delivered one of the all-time greats is not much of a surprise, though. He has worked every harvest since 1973 and is credited with planting some of region’s most famous vineyards, including the very first. In 1990, Allan and his wife Catherine established Scott Family Winery as one of the first independent wineries of Marlborough. And, go figure, the Rapaura area along the northern edge of the Wairau Valley where Scott planted his vineyard has become renowned as the most prized location in Marlborough. Put it all together and, here we are!
Wine Spectator: 93 Points
"Aromatic, with terrific precision to the herbal details of white pepper, grapefruit, lemongrass and fresh grated ginger. The core of mouthwatering Meyer lemon, ruby grapefruit and green apple flavors have a thread of savory saline, with plenty of intensity and freshness on the finish. 100,000 cases made, 70,000 cases imported. From New Zealand."
