This is a classic Rioja blend of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Garnacha from Ondarre’s home in the rich soils of Viana, brought up in a blend of Missouri and French oak to make for a robust, multifaceted and captivating Rioja. There’s inviting, dark red fruit with heady tea notes, with hints of wild flowers and warming spices that make this an absolute joy to drink. It has a bit of a decadent edge- but just serious enough in the tannins to keep it from full hedonism.

“Rich hints of loamy earth and leather underscore flavors of warm fig, plump cherry, red licorice and rooibos, with creamy-edged tannins providing supple definition. "Dark ruby to the eye, this wine has a nose of cassis, cocoa powder and a hint of leather. There is a nice sense of earthiness underlying ripe cherry, cranberry, roasted red pepper, milk chocolate and slivered ginger flavors that are set into plush tannins, which linger on the tongue and gums."
