Winemaker and Owner John Raytek developed his winemaking chops at Flowers Winery in the Sonoma Coast, but also had stints at California legends like Araujo in Napa, and even Domanie Dujac in Burgundy. He also made wine at celebrated Rhys Vineyards, and at Copain, quite the resume! These Ceritas wines are TINY production gems, in the hundreds of cases, sourced from a collection of the finest, cool climate vineyards in the Sonoma Coast, Santa Cruz Mountains, and one site in Napa. These are truly wines of place, with exceptional balance and precision.

"These old vines, planted in coveted Goldridge Sandy Loam soils, have been basking in the gentle climates northeast of the town of Occidental for more than 40 years. We find Chardonnay here with an inherent richness, lifted by bright acidity and powerful structure. We have shared an organically farmed block at the property with Littorai for nearly 15 years. The most approachable Chardonnay upon release this year. Explosively aromatic, the ever-present tropical fruits are in full, vivid focus here. A tinge of Madagascar vanilla rounds everything out. The cool vintage can be felt on the palate, sending a lightning bolt through palate-staining flavors of lemon curd, pineapple and brioche. A joy to drink."

"A shade deeper but still a brilliant yellow/straw hue, the 2023 Chardonnay Charles Heintz reveals notes of fresh pineapples, wet stones, fresh flowers, and citrus oils. Full-bodied, it saturates the palate with an opulent, silky texture, though it remains focused, its intense clarity balanced with mouthwatering salinity and a long finish. It’s both approachable now but has the ability to age over the coming 15 years."
