“A compelling Syrah with elegance and precision. Showing off vibrant mixed berry fruits, apricot pit, cardamom, and herbs de Provence with dusty iron mineral aromas. Medium-bodied with a lovely saline quality balanced by juicy blood orange acid. White pepper and sandalwood round out the tension-fueled finish. No new oak. Native yeast fermented and aged for 16 months in neutral barrels. Clones 470 and Alban. Co-founders Drew and Laurie Duncan started visiting the Sta. Rita Hills in Santa Barbara County after looking for property in the Anderson Valley and Sonoma Coast. They found what they sought in 2013 and locked into 285 acres along Santa Rosa Road and the Santa Ynez River, east of Sanford & Benedict. They have planted Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Gamay. Their winemaker is Ernst Storm.”
