For me, the best Oregon Chardonnays aren’t trying to replicate other region’s versions – eg. Burgundy or Napa Valley. The climate isn’t the same as either, so why try and mimic the end product? What we get is something uniquely Oregon – density of fruit along with vibrancy and freshness. Power AND finesse. They aren’t mutually exclusive here, you get the best of both spectrums.
Need convincing? Well, look no further than this gem! Crushing the winery and best US price, this is a great chance to hop on board the Oregon Chard wagon. (Oregon Trail? Anyone else remember that game?)
Ponzi Description
“Floral notes of honeysuckle, white lavender and citrus blooms lead to a complex nose of mandarin, white peach, mango, lemongrass and ginger. The mouth is full and reminiscent of a light meringue with notes of honeycomb. dried pineapple and shortbread all framed by a lively acidity and a beautiful salty fresh finish.” winemaker note
Wine Advocate: 95 Points
“It's energetic, spicy and mineral-driven this vintage, with transparent aromas of white peach, beeswax, jasmine and flint. The palate pairs spicy fruit with exotic floral undertones. It has a satiny, expansive texture balanced by a spine of shimmery acidity, and it finishes long and expressive.” WA
