Winemaker Peter Sisseck has a love for old vine Tempranillo and Ribera del Duero, and PSI is his way to give back to the region that made him famous. Peter has sought out the best independent growers in Ribera and has incentivized them to improve viticultural practices, lowing yields and farming biodynamically (just like his great Pingus estate vines). Peter pays the growers based on the quality, not quantity of fruit they provide. The result is a blockbuster bottle of rocking Ribera! Bursting with blackcurrant and blueberries aromas, with hints of oak and smoky minerals. Full and rich on the tongue, with more dark fruits, robust tannins and long complex finish that seems to last for minutes. If you love old Tempranillo, his will knock you off your feet.

“The 2022 PSI hails from the Sorian side of Ribera del Duero. Ripe plum, cherry and herbal aromas mingle with a balsamic touch, soft cedar and a hint of prune. The palate is juicy and creamy in texture, defined by firm, fine-grained tannins and moderate structure. Concentration comes from the old vines, while lively acidity balances the fine tannins. A solid example of Ribera Soriana.”

“The 2022 PSI is clean, expressive and open, much more approachable than the more reductive 2021 that I tasted next to it. It's primary, fruit-driven and precise. "The fruit selection was better in 2022," explained Sisseck. It has contained ripeness and a polished texture and is sleek and elegant, with fine tannins. It feels like a step up from 2021. This was also the final blend waiting to be bottled—clarified, sulfur added and everything, so pretty much the wine that is going to be bottled.” - WA
