A few quick updates... - We now have four phone lines in Chapel Hill, so please give us a call if you need assistance picking out wines! (919)968-1884.
- Chapel Hill is back to regular hours (see below), but still curbside or delivery only. Given the current surge in cases, we are staying cautious.
- Hillsborough is operating under abbreviated hours this week while Jen is on vacation. (see below). Also curbside/delivery only.
- For Chapel Hill pickups, please text us at (919) 307-5093 when you are coming to pickup. Let us know your car make and color, and ETA.
- I've added three new headers on the website to make it easier than ever for you to find great wines - "Sale Items", "Staff Favorites", and "Weekly Specials". And you can also check "Newsletters/Newsletter Archives" for all of our most recent email offers, even ones you may not receive!
- We've added over 100 new wines in the past two weeks as well, and added descriptions for nearly every wine. I think we are up to 95%!
Now, for the week... super crisp and light seems to be in order...

Alvarinho is the Portugese name for Albarino, a grape that needs little introduction to our customers, who have been quaffing the Spanish version for years. Is it possible the best versions have been "hidden" away just over the border in Portugal, growing in small jardins (gardens) on the south bank of the Minho River? One sip of this gem, and you'll be thankful our friends at Ole Imports took a turn south one day... 100% Alvarinho from small garden plots with vines planted as far back as 1910! This delicious little white is fresh and vibrant, with aromas of peach, lemongrass and passion fruit. It’s bright with stone fruits and has plenty of complexity, with crisp stony minerals and zippy acidity. A great porch sipper, perfect for green salads and fresh shellfish. Or sit on the porch and quaff it down with some cornbread and butter – just like they do in Portugal! Seriously, that’s the traditional food – maybe we’re all just Portugese at heart down here in the South!
