Weingut Stadt Krems was founded in 1452 as a source of revenue for the hospital of Krems and is one of the oldest wineries in Austria. The municipality of Krems still owns the 560-year-old winery and is today one of the best in the region.

Why do we all love Gruner Veltliner so much? For me, it is the perfect combination of aromatic fruit, vibrant acidity and just the right amount of body – not too light… not too heavy… making Gruner equally at home on the front porch, the pool (or pond… or beach… or kiddie pool…) and the dinner table. It is wonderful with appetizers like fresh tomatoes and goat cheese, pairs wonderfully with fish of all shapes and sizes, but can still stand up to chicken off the grill. It is, in my house, my go-to white! And at just 12.5% alc., this is superbly quaffable!
