La Petite Lune is a new project from Domaine de Chevalier owner, Olivier Bernard, and famed sonsulting enologist, Stephane Derenoncourt. Yes, the same Domaine de Chevalier that merits 96-100 pt ratings.
But Olivier wants to produce a set of wines that are meant for everyday drinking without compromising his values and standards. So he tasked Stephane with sourcing grapes from vineyards throughout the Bordeaux appellation. Where they came from was irrelevant. All that mattered was that the grapes were impeccable.
Then, the Chevalier team went to work. The result are these two gems. Ridiculously delicious for the price…
And they come in these beautiful six packs! You know you just NEED to take one, or two, home!
You can mix and match them together too!

45% Cabernet Sauvignon / 50% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc. An intense nose of red and black plums and cherries along with a hint of violets leads into a round, silky wine loaded with luscious ripe fruit. Fine tannins provide structure and balance. Would it be sacrilege to drink this with a burger?
“Produced by the Bernard family of Domaine de Chevalier fame, this is a great-value Bordeaux blend forged out of an alliance between Olivier Bernard and Stéphane Derenoncourt. With the luxurious texture of the 2016 vintage behind it, this has plenty of dark red and black currant notes, a touch of herbs and lead pencil to finish, all carried on a wave of silky tannins. Some good ageing potential as well. Drinking Window 2020 – 2025” Decanter
“Lots of ripe, fresh redcurrant and red-cherry character here. The discreet dry tannins and herbal freshness give this sleek red Bordeaux a lot of appeal. The crisp finish makes it very food-friendly. Drink or hold. A blend of 50 per cent merlot, 45 per cent cabernet sauvignon and five per cent cabernet franc.” JS

50% Sauvignon Blanc / 50% Semillon. Aromas of peaches and apricots give way to flavors of the same along with snappy citrus flavors and a hint of tropical mango and passion fruit. The Semillon makes for a smooth, round mouthfeel, held together by the Sauv Blanc’s inherent acidity. The yin and yang nature of these grapes is on full display here. Delicious on its own, this truly shines with food – fish and seafood dishes being particularly delicious!
“Wake up world, here’s a dry white Bordeaux that is enormously refreshing and stunning value for money. Bright apples and pears leap out at you. Juicy and rather sleek palate with a super clean, long finish. A blend of 50 per cent sauvignon and 50 per cent semillon.” JS on the 2016
