If you drink Rhone red, chances are you have had more than a few bottles from Gonnet, as he is our best-selling Rhone producer. And now, finally, we have an equally delicious white added to his portfolio!
“le Reveur” translates to “The Dreamer”… a reference to Guillaume & Kelly Gonnet’s vision to chart their own course. Guillaume is the grandson of Etienne Gonnet, founder of Font de Michelle, and still runs the family winery. But he wanted to deviate a bit and explore the “terroir effect” by following biodynamic agricultural principles, ensuring the wine is balanced, soft with elegant tannins and very little wood influence. Guillaume has always been fascinated by the notion of “terroir”, most notably about how the Southern Rhône varieties express themselves in diverse terroir.
A rich and luscious blend of 40% Viognier, 30% Grenache blanc, and 30% Roussanne. Classic Viognier aromas of peach and honeysuckle lead into more peach and nectarine flavors along with hints of lime and orange peel. The Roussanne adds a hint of pears and herbal tea, while the Grenache Blanc adds fleshiness and mouthfeel. There’s a mouthwatering hint of saltiness on the finish that calls you back for another sip. Delish! Kudos Guillaume!
What to pair with? Guillame and Kelly say, ““Le Reveur” is a wine that marries well with seafood, chicken, rabbit and fresh cheeses. It is the perfect aperitif, served with dips and chips.”
Chips and dip? Awesome!

100% Muscat fermented dry. This is just super cool and intriguing… wild aromas of rose petals, orange blossoms and pink grapefruit jump from the glass. But on first sip, those explosive aromas are tamed… there is an elegant restraint to this wine. It’s a super sexy sportscar, all right, but it never veers out of control, hugging tightly to each curve and turn with ease. You can feel the power underneath, and occasionally the engine roars, then downshifts as you settle back into the drive. Minerality and vibrant acidity are the balancing factors here, and make for an incredible food match. I paired with grilled pork chops, and it more than had enough power to stand up. It would be divine with Indian or Thai food… takeout night!
