We hit upon the wines from Falkenstein a few years ago and have been rolling through them ever since. Now comes the 2019 vintage, which is so incredibly perfect, it prompted James Suckling to ask, "Is 2019 Germany's 100 pt vintage?" Huge scores from Wine Advocate have made these a hot item. Thankfully, our years of support have been rewarded with a pretty heft allocation... let's start with these 20 cases... If you feel so inclined, I encourage you to read up on the winery here: http://www.larscarlberg.com/producer/hofgut-falkenstein/
The bottom line is the Riesling from Falkenstein are some of the best being made in the world... want some?
"Drink-ability, digestibility and versatility are cardinal Falkenstein virtues" —David Schildknecht
(Note: The “AP#” indicates the fuder (large barrel)from which the wines are made. Only 1,000 liters – roughly 110 cases – are made of each!)

“Entirely from one plot of vines on blue-gray clayey slate soils with quartzite, the 2019 Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Kabinett #12 Kugel Peter opens with super clear, refined and bright Riesling aromas with slatey, floral and iron notes and even green olives. Juicy-piquant and pervasively salty on the palate, this is a firmly structured, sweet and complex yet fine picture-book Kabinett with grip and tension but the lightness and filigreed structure only the very best Kabinett wines have to offer. 8.5% alcohol."

"From ungrafted vines planted in the 1930s, the single-plot 2019 Krettnacher Euchariusberg Riesling Kabinett Alte Reben #8 Gisela is highly refined and delicate on the pure and flinty nose that displays very fine slate aromas and delicate fruit. Generously round and salty-piquant on the sophisticated palate, this is a sublime grand cru in the filigreed yet intense and sustainable Kabinett style. The sweetness is moderate and perfectly balanced by the body and the pervasive mineral background. The 2019 is another fascinating Gisela with an enormously long, pure, piquant and salty finish. 7.5% alcohol"
