Sorry for the abrupt subject line... but I couldn't really think of another way to phrase it. 

After 18 years, Jen decided she is ready for a change. Something that will allow her to have more time with her family. While we are sad to see her go, I am happy she will have more nights, weekends and holidays to spend with her family. She deserves it! 

Sam Otterbourg will be managing the Hillsborough store starting next week. Many of you already know Sam, as he has covered for Jen when she has been on vacation and has worked many a tasting in Hillsborough. Of course, Sam will not have the instant memory recall of what everyone likes, but he will have access to your purchase history to help figure it out. And he looks forward to getting to know everyone as best he can in these curbside times.

Dear Customers and Friends of Hillsborough Wine Co.,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you.  After 18 years of this store being my home away from home, I have decided to leave and to embark on a new career path.  I am very excited for the growth and development that will arise from this choice.  But, I will miss you dearly. 

My life changed immensely when I was welcomed into the wine business by Todd and especially when Hillsborough Wine Co. opened.  I have loved being in the wine business.  Becoming a part of this charming and lovely community made that journey more enriched than I could have ever imagined.  I have made so many friends along the way.   Even with curbside pick-up over the months, we have managed to continue to chat with one another in the parking lot and I am grateful for those moments.  For 18 years, I have been allowed to be a part of your lives by way of selecting wine for weddings, dinner parties, special occasions or for a simple Monday night being grateful for getting through the first day of the week.   It has been an honor.   I will miss seeing all of you on a regular basis, but I do live in Hillsborough so I am sure we will cross paths many times.  I promise to join you for the in-store tastings once the store is safely re-open for walk-in business.  Please be well and do take care.
