“Nearly every wine, from the light Grüner Veltliner to the red wines and the sparkling wines, has the potential to be the best of that vintage in its category,” declares Peter Moser, editor and publisher of Falstaff Wine Guide, Austria’s most respected and comprehensive wine publication.
Named in 2009 by Wine & Spirits Magazine “the best Austrian winemaker of the last 25 years."
Combined with the growing buzz that 2019 is the best vintage for Austrian wine in recent memory... this is a stupifying deal!
Unfortunately, I only have five cases...
This baby is absolutley ravishing! As in, "stunning, exquisite, striking, magnificent, dazzling, radiant, entrancing, captivating;"
You see, this is a wine that demands attention. From the first whiff, it grabs ahold of your senses and will not let go. It's a bit dangerous. As in, whoops, I forgot what I was doing and the pasta boiled over... It's that kind of good. Ravishing.
What? You don't like "ravishing" wines? Just "ho-hum" for you? (kidding... sort of...)
Dive right in, folks, as there is no comparable grape in the world that can produce such marvelously fragrant and expressive wines, all in a bone-dry, refreshing package that just begs you to drink more... Perfect for porch sipping, but even more adept at the table, this baby is a perfect match for fried chicken. Yep. Fried chicken. Heck, you're not spending a ton on the dinner, so a teensy splurge on the wine is worth it! Or pair with grilled fish or roast chicken. You can't go wrong!
"A whole bouquet of white and yellow flowers (elder-acacia) rises immediately to the nose but also grapy flavors with a twist of lemon peel, followed by some mineral and yeasty tones, dry and lovely fresh on the palate, very pure, fragrant and again striking with its light fruit tones like fresh vineyard peaches, also a crisp acidity backbone that highlights some spice and minerals, elegant, slender, perfect in its youth for the summerly terraces but with potential for further maturing to a complete text book Riesling." winery note
“A very tight, composed white, showing dried-apple, lemon and spiced-pear character with heather and honeysuckle. It’s full-bodied with lots of lively fruit and a vivid finish. Structured. Super wine at this quality level from one of the legends. From organically grown grapes.” JS
"Light yellow-green, silver reflections. Floral nuances, elder and acacia blossoms, white peach, notes of mandarin zest. Juicy, white tropical fruit, racy structure, mineral-lemony in the finish, fine stone fruit notes in the aftertaste, a lively food companion with development potential." Falstaff translated
