Ok, I know this sounds corny, but it is true… the Favorita grape has become one of our favorite Italian whites. The problem is, there is just so little of it made. We had the chance to snag five cases of this gem from possibly the finest producer of the grape, so we jumped!

For me, what makes the wine so compelling and attention-getting is its incredible freshness and lip-smacking deliciousness. Yeah, I don’t know if that is really a word, but you know what I mean. A delightfully floral nose leads into a crisp wine with hints of peaches and apricots and a bright finish with hints of almonds. This is just quintessential Italian white – perfect as an aperitif, but with enough structure and acidity to pair wonderfully with food. A fabulous choice to open while cooking, then bring to the table with fish and seafood dishes. Hmmm… how ‘bout Risotto with Asparagus and pesto? Click the pic for a recipe.
