I sent this out a couple weeks ago and the response was amazing... so this project is underway with an anticipated arrival of May/June. If you have already pre-ordered, no need to do anything more. If not, here is your chance. I have sold over half of what we have coming, so it is likely to be sold out before arrival.
We will not charge you till the wine is here. And you can change your mind at any time.
So here is the deal...
You may recall , one of the last acts of the previous administration was to extend the 25% tariff on French wines under 14% alcohol to all French wines. Looking through the Tarot cards, it doesn't appear any action will be taken on repealing them until August, at the earliest.
Which means the regular bottle of our top-selling French rose will be going from $13.99 to $16.99 or $17.99. While still a good deal, it got me thinking... what other options are out there?
Ultimately, I zoned in on this option - a 3 Liter Bag in the box! We haven't really dabbled in the bag in the box wine world because, quite frankly, the wines are cheap and not very good. They don't come remotely close to what you spend on an average bottle of wine.
But what if I could get some premium wine in a box? Something you'd be happy as a clam to have available at a moment's notice, barely taking up any room in your fridge. Going to the pool this summer (hopefully)? Just grab the box and go. Beach, pond, pool, lake... heck tennis court, golf cart... you name it and these little babies are ready to go. And there's the environmentally friendly recyclable box versus all that glass.
Some answers to your burning questions... - 3 Liters is the equivalent of four bottles
- Unopened, this will hold for upwards of a year
- Once opened, the wine can last 3 months, but I recommend drinking within 6 weeks. So... less than a bottle per week!
- The dimensions of the box are approximately 16" x 11" x 5". Fits neatly on whatever shelf you put your milk and orange juice. And keeps the body strong.
- The box has a little spout on the front that you just pinch and wine pours out! Could not be any easier.
The price will be $59.99 for the box - $14.99 per 750 ml equivalent. (versus $17.99 for the bottle, also on order for those who prefer.)
Ok... so who's in? Reply to place your pre-order. Oh.. a reminder about the wine...
Ah… Tavel… the only appellation in the Rhone Valley to produce nothing but rose wine. Not just any rose, either - Tavel is considered by most of the “cognoscenti” to produce the finest rose in all the world! It is also one of the few that can actually age, and improve with age! Often, I find myself putting my Tavel away for a year before consuming! Of course, that requires me to buy more than I will drink on the first weekend of having it!
“Gorgeous Tavel dresses in a thousand shades of pink to seduce and captivate the senses.” Random quote I think is cool…
This is absolutely classic Tavel. A blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Syrah offering a deep cherry-red color, the wine draws you in notes of raspberries, wild strawberries, a hint of orange blossom and minerality. A tangle of briary fruits envelopes your senses as you dive in for a sip – blackberry and raspberry – especially the wild variety, with their brighter acidity and ripe/tart balance! Hints of Provencal herbs on the finish bring it all together – this is a wine of place… of the earth… of terroir! |
