We’ve been huge supporters of Marietta for over a decade now, and their latest releases are off-the-charts good. Fortunately for Marietta, but unfortunately for us, the Wine Advocate finally got wind… and the ratings released this week are insane. The thing is… the wines really are THAT good.
Thankfully, since we have been such great supporters, we were able to cut to the front of the line, grabbing 50% of the available supply for the state. It is sold out at the winery, so there is just one shot at this.

Primarily Zinfandel, fermented and aged in stainless tank, and benefiting from barrel aged Syrah and Petite Sirah. Small amounts of Grenache, Barbera, and Carignane complete the wine.
“Deep ruby-purple in color, the NV Old Vine Red Lot 71 has bright black cherry on the nose, with accents of fresh tobacco leaves, woodsmoke iron and potpourri. Medium-bodied, grainy and fresh, it has spicy, mineral-laced fruit and a long, lifted finish. I love this wine for its full flavor, juicy appeal and sensitive price point.” WA
“A pleasantly bright and lively red wine, plump with blackberries and black cherries. Secondary notes of wild mint, dusty earth and even a hint of mocha provide an alluring, grounded experience in the glass. Comforting and irresistibly familiar, this is one of the original and best-known red blends produced in California. A ‘drink now, enjoy often’ wine that can easily be taken more seriously if the moment happens to demand.” Winery note
