For those times when a bottle is just not enough…
Founded in 1729, Ruinart has the distinction of being the very first Champagne house, with Chardonnay being the golden thread running through the Ruinart taste since inception. We’ve marveled at Ruinart’s bubbles for years, and last year we were fortunate to host Ruinart’s Chef de Caves, Frédéric Panaïotis for several events here in NC. Frédéric has taken Ruinart’s this prestigious Champagne house’s wines to the next level, with a focus on organics and sustainability in the vineyards. The Champagnes just beam with purity, they’re always a pleasure to drink and I find them to be some of the most versatile and food friendly wines out there.
Our distributor has a super sale on Ruinart bubbles this week only. Blanc de Blancs and Rose, don’t miss them!

Winery note: "The blend is 100% Chardonnay from various years (20 to 25% of which are reserve wines from the 2 previous years). A large majority of Premiers Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims vineyards for aromatic refinement, supplemented by Sézannais wines known to provide maturity. Finally, several wines from the north of the Vesle valley give a light, fresh touch.
At first very intense on the nose, with fresh fruit notes, particularly ripe citrus fruits. A second refined floral nose with notes of white flowers and fruits (white peaches, pineapple). A supple, harmonious attack on the palate, very rounded. Vinosity that is not excessive, supported by excellent freshness. Beautiful pale golden yellow color with gentle green reflections, a vibrant, luminous colour. Active effervescence with a persistent release of bubbles."
“A graceful Champagne, sleek and finely knit, with a subtle range of nectarine, lemon curd, almond blossom and ground ginger flavors, expanding on the silky mousse. Offers a lingering, mineral-laced finish. Drink now through 2024.” - WS

Winery note: "45% of the chardonnay is from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims vineyards. 55% of the pinot noir is from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne vineyards, 18 to 19% of which has been made into red wine. 20 to 25% coming from reserve wines from the 2 previous years. Its singularity lies in the unique balance of its blend of chardonnay, Ruinart’s emblematic grape variety, and pinot noir vinified as a red wine. The fullness and character of the Pinot Noir consolidates the freshness of the Chardonnay.
The colour is a delicate pomegranate pink with very slightly orange reflections. The sparkling, light effervescence has a persistent foam. The nose is subtle and fresh, first offering an original palette of tropical fruits (guava and lychee) and small berries (raspberries, cherries and wild strawberries) in the first instance. These are followed by rose and pomegranate notes which complete the complex, intense aromatic profile, dominated by somewhat undeveloped primary aromas. On the palate the attack is distinct and full, cradled by a gentle effervescence. The aromas of freshly picked berries are fully expressed. The balance brings together a delightful freshness and voluptuous body, expressed by an elegant bracing touch of mint and pink grapefruit."
“This offers all the trim sleekness of a well-built racing sailboat, while the flavors unfurl on the palate like a full spinnaker sail. Macerated raspberry and poached apricot fruit is underscored by smoke and toast notes, and pleasing hints of crystallized honey, tangerine zest and dried thyme echo on the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2030.” – WS Supply is limited. Reply to order. |
