[Tim] One of the highlights of my recent trip to northern California was getting to meet up with Scot Bilbro, the owner and winemaker of Marietta Cellars, for a picnic and tasting on a stunning beach (pictured below), literally in the middle of nowhere, on the rugged Mendocino coast. The plan was originally a tour and tasting at the winery in Sonoma but Scot pulled an audible and decided a beach picnic/tasting was a better idea. Since I’ve already seen the sticky insides of dozens of wineries over the years, I was thankful for the change of pace! We chatted and tasted and chatted and tasted… A bottle of this rosé was killed in just a few minutes without us even noticing… It was an effortless drink. Deep and complex enough to stand up to the sandwiches and charcuterie we were enjoying but bright, fruity and refreshing enough to just finish a bottle in minutes!

“Medium cherry-pink in color, the 2020 Old Vine Rosé offers fresh berry and melon fruit with notes of baker's yeast, citrus and flowers. The palate is fully fruited and fresh, with a touch of texture anchoring the finish. Drink 2021-2025.” - WA
Old Vine Rosé is a saturation of summer watermelon savored right down to the rind. Electric pink in the glass, this Grenache + Syrah blend is full of warm wild strawberries, tart pink grapefruit, and just a dash of pink peppercorn. Satisfyingly fresh and vibrant, with a dry, mouth-watering finish, this is just the right wine for when food is served, when friends gather, or for a perfect quiet view.
