“The 2022 Álvaro Loza was produced with grapes from Haro and Labastida, mostly Tempranillo with some Viura from his own vineyards, four small plots worked organically since 2019 (but still not certified until 2023), and cropped from a warm and dry vintage. It fermented with some full clusters, separated by plot. It has an expressive nose with notes of wild berries, flowers and herbs and no aromatic impact from the élevage of 16 months in used 225- and 500-liter oak barrels. It comes in at 14.5% alcohol and has a medium to full-bodied palate with fine-grained, chalky tannins.”
