“Barone di Villagrande's Etna Superiore in 2023 seems to have thrived despite the extreme heat. In fact, Milo is one of the wettest places in all of Sicily, and also cooler even than other parts of Etna, which has clearly benefitted the vines this year. Scents of lemon sherbet, white flowers and blood orange lead to a saline mouthful of lemon and peach, with rich hints of apricot skin and mango. Flinty and sapid, it's a beautiful bottle – and fantastic value.”

"The 2023 Etna Bianco Superiore lifts from the glass with a spicy bouquet as dusty florals come together with hints of ginger, crushed rocks and nectarine. It's soothingly round in feel, building tension in the glass as saline minerals combine with brisk acidity and tart orchard fruits. The 2023 tapers off crunchy and long, closing with a salty flourish and notes of sour lime that tug at the cheeks. A minty herbal resonance slowly fades."
