Winemaker and Owner John Raytek developed his winemaking chops at Flowers Winery in the Sonoma Coast, but also had stints at California legends like Araujo in Napa, and even Domanie Dujac in Burgundy. He also made wine at celebrated Rhys Vineyards, and at Copain, quite the resume! These Ceritas wines are TINY production gems, in the hundreds of cases, sourced from a collection of the finest, cool climate vineyards in the Sonoma Coast, Santa Cruz Mountains, and one site in Napa. These are truly wines of place, with exceptional balance and precision.
Ceritas Description
"Merely a stone’s throw from the Old Shop Block, Elliott is a stark example of the incredible diversity of soil found on the West Sonoma Coast. Significantly thinner, rockier soils impart a great deal of natural stress on these old vines, providing a scant crop of massively flavored grapes. Elliott is built for the long haul with pronounced tannin and a strong spine of acidity. Pours a delicately pale garnet in the glass. A more ethereal aromatic vintage for Elliott, with an herbal punch to the red-fruited perfume on the nose. Everything becomes darker and more intense on the palate, with a firm tannin structure and flavors of ripe strawberry, maraschino cherry, and purple flowers. Like many of the 2023 Pinot Noirs, the tingling acidity is mouthwatering."

"The 2023 Pinot Noir Elliott barrel sample is distinctive and angular in structure, with a more citrus-inflected feel. With mouthwatering acidity and spice, it has an almost Nebbiolo-like structure, but with more angular grip and wild herbs."
