Château de Villeneuve Description
"100% Cabernet Franc. 45 years-old vines. Nose of dark fruit (blackberry and black cherry) and violet. On the pallet it shows flavors of cranberry and cherry, and turning savory with black olive at midpalate. Charming impression of finesse with a light graphite minerality and hint of white pepper. Easy drinking character and an awesome value.

– “Plump and soft red cherry and raspberry notes lead to a seductive, mouth-filling palate that shows some structure. It’s well balanced with a long finish and refreshing, ripe acidity. A real success for a difficult vintage, so once again Jean-Pierre Chevallier and his daughter Cécile have demonstrated their ability to make very good wines even in difficult vintages through their attention to detail and refusal to compromise. The Cabernet Franc for this domaine wine is between 40-50 years old and planted on clay-limestone. The grapes are hand harvested. After fermentation, 60% is matured in 4,000-litre wooden vats and the rest in concrete and stainless steel.” -Dec
