DeLille’s sought after Four Flags, Grand Ciel, Harrison Hill and Shaw Vineyard single vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon blends are perennial 96-99 pointers and retail for $90-$160+ a bottle. This is the inaugural release of the Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted with fruit from those same single vineyards and a handful of vineyards farmed by winery friends.
Delille Description
"Our Cabernet Sauvignon is an exploration of the Columbia Valley, blending fruit from acclaimed vineyards with DeLille winemaking techniques to showcase the purity and complexity of Washington Cabernet. The region’s long, sunny days allow fruit to ripen slowly, creating opulent flavors of dark fruit and dried herbs, paired with cool evenings that preserve acidity. The resulting wines are exceptionally well-balanced, with a full-bodied profile complemented by firm tannins."
Wine Spectator: 93 Points
"Shows drive and energy, with well-sculpted flavors of black cherry and blackberry highlighted by espresso and dried herb notes that build structure toward full-bodied tannins. Drink now through 2035."
Wine Enthusiast: 93 Points
"Here's a set of aromas that you could spread on an English muffin with gleeful abandon. The first note is blackberry jam, followed by a wisp of almond butter. Then, a fistful of violets arrives, followed by the scent of a fresh set of cedar chest drawers. A blueberry gelato flavor mixes nicely with notes of pipe tobacco and espresso. Sturdy tannins hold everything together, creating a chewy texture that may require decanting."
