While this wine is classified as a simple Bourgogne Blanc¸ it actually only serves to keep this wine’s exceptional pedigree a secret. With fruit from vineyards around the village of Chaintre in the heart of Pouilly-Fuisse, this wine should cost $40 or more. But, some of these vineyards are a little higher altitude and outside the range of what is actually classified as Pouilly-Fuisse- so they have to label it as Bourgogne Blanc and you get to save big!
This gem is 100% stainless steel fermentation and aging. Owner Yannick Paquet is relentlessly meticulous in his vineyards, so he wants you to taste nothing but the fruit and the exquisite terroir. This gem offers a brilliant, juicy nose of flowers, tropical fruits and a stony minerality (think water from a running stream). The result is intense flavors - the wine explodes across your tongue offering juicy peach, tropical fruit and citrus flavors all with a touch of raw honey on the clean finish. This wine’s clarity and vibrancy make it a wonderful aperitif, or for pairing with fish and shellfish of all manner. Focus on simple flavors to allow the wine to dance and shine!
