Named for the dinosaur skeleton unearthed during the construction of the winery, Saurus is a project from the northern reaches of Patagonia in Argentina. The dry, windswept terroir shifts between sunny summer days and cool nights- perfect for world-class Pinot Noir! We’ve offered a few Patagonian wines before (thought often from boutique producers with price tags to match), but you won’t find a better stepping stone into the wider world of Patagonian Pinot!
Lithe with bright fruit, the Saurus balances an impeccable freshness with hints of earth and spice from it’s time in French Oak. There’s a lot on display for lovers of Willamette Valley Pinot, where the contrast of crunchy cherry and raspberry notes dance with hints of forest floor elevates the entire package. It’s perfect as a pop and pour party pinot, but those lovely little spice notes make it a wicked wine for simple weeknight dinners!

“The 2023 Pinot Noir Saurus Select originates from San Patricio del Chañar in Neuquén, and 40% was aged for nine months in French oak. The nose displays cherries against a forest floor backdrop. The palate is loose, fruity and flavorful with pronounced primary characteristics. Elegant, intense and exceptionally well-crafted, the 2023 reflects a modern approach to winemaking.”
