What I find compelling about this wine, and the new wave of Argentine Malbecs being produced, is how pure they are. Very little oak, and what oak is used is “neutral”. Restrained viticulture as well, resulting in wines that are certainly ripe, but not excessive or over the top. In short, a wine that appeals to the senses, but also the intellect, with its purity and elegance. Yet, has the substance and stuffing to pair well with all manner of foods, from the Gaucho’s steaks to chicken, pork and veggies. Truly, outside of my favorite Spanish reds, I cannot think of a wine that is so versatile and such a value! Like I said, if this doesn’t do it for you… then, well…
