100% Garnacha Peluda. A Catalan mutation of Grenache, “Peluda” refers to the hairy underside of the leaves which allow the vines to conserve moisture. Garnacha Peluda is also higher in acidity, earlier to ripen and able to withstand stringer windspeeds than its forebearer. All are essential characteristics in this exceptionally windy, high elevation region.
This wine epitomizes class and elegance – just like Danielle! Pinot Noir-like aromas of strawberries, raspberries and spices lead into a medium-bodied wine that is fresh and juicy. ““Hairy” Garnatxa seems to be a shy variety at first, but its wilder side comes out as flavours and aromas open up. A bright, medium intense, claret colour. Aromas of raspberries and spices combine with a herbal touch. A very fresh and light first taste in the mouth soon leaves a spicy character bursting with black pepper pods and cloves towards the end. A refined and elegant palate with a lingering aftertaste.” Winery note
Proprietor Nuria Altes recommends a good, fatty fish, like turbot, grilled rabbit, rack of lamb with a mustard crust or a clotxa – crusty, round bread that is hollowed out and stuffed with sardines, onions, tomatoes and garlic. Oh my, that sounds delish!

"Racy strawberries and raspberries with rose hips and a hint of white pepper. Tight, medium- to full-bodied on the palate with minerally textured tannins and a long, taut finish.
