I just love Soave.
Mineral and clean with impeccable notes of tropical fruit and fresh melon, it’s the kind of all-rounder white wine that is equally comfortable on the table with complex coconut curries as it is on porch with a hunk of cheese. Simply unbeatable as a table white, it combines the fleshy citrus of Vermentino with the clean minerality of a higher-end Pinot Grigio, but with exciting exotic spice notes that can’t help but captivate.
This just happens to be one of the best I’ve ever tasted! Biodynamically farmed Garganega from 60 year-old pergola-trained vines in the ancient Volcanic soils of Veneto, La Cappuccina is putting on a Soave Clinic! The black lava soil amplifies the smoky minerality, while a period of lees aging ups the savory fruit content, resulting in a white wine that somehow manages to balance a hedonistic fruit profile with clean and crisp finish!
