One of the great Rieslings of Australia, if not the entire southern hemisphere! Leeuwin, Pike’s, even Henscke’s Golden Rhine - this little Pewsey Vale Riesling rivals them all, and its way cheaper! Bone dry 100% Riesling from one of Australia's finest white wine regions, the Eden Valley in South Australia, just north of Adelaide.
A classic example of dry Eden Valley Riesling, showcasing the flavors we see so consistently each year from this wonderful single vineyard dedicated to the single variety. Lemon and lime fruits mix with hints of wild flowers and dried herbs on the nose. The palate shows great length and depth with more lime, guava, passion fruit, white flowers and fresh rosemary. The wine finishes with lively zippy natural acidity, and a minerality that will reward medium to long-term cellaring. You can drink this now, or you can cellar it for many more years. Stunning value at this price! Try pairing with spicier foods, curries, even Mexican goodies!
“Pale straw with green hues. Intense aromas of fine dried herbs, white flowers, lemon and lime. A long and rich palate, reminiscent of grapefruit, lime and fresh rosemary. The wine finishes with a soft natural acidity which balances the flavor and minerality that is delicious now or will reward medium to long-term cellaring. Enjoy with fresh oysters, seared scallops, salt and pepper squid, Thai beef salad, or a tomato salad with pickled walnuts and fresh basil.” – Pewsey Vale
James Suckling: 96 Points
“ A breathtakingly joyful wine! Stunning nose of ripe orange and melon! This is simultaneously extremely expressive, juicy and elegant on the medium-bodied palate. Near-perfect balance right through the super-mineral finish that’s super precise and really uplifting. Amazing value for money!”
Wine Advocate: 94 Points
"This 2022 Single Vineyard Estate Riesling is rocky, dry, floral, fleshy, tight, talc-y, curved and flowing. It has austerity and meat in equal measure, and it lingers long after the wine has gone. What a great wine. It's pleasurable and age-worthy, with brilliant structural integrity and impressive freshness. It's complex as well. Great!"
