“They used most of the red Rufete grapes to produce the 2022 Ciclón, as the year was very dry and low yielding and they are in a transition toward village reds. It has grapes from different villages and soils, with the plots fermented and matured separately. It fermented destemmed, and two-thirds of the volume matured in barrel for 10 months. Rufete keeps low alcohol (this is 12.5%), and in 2022, they harvested very early because of the heat. This has good freshness with a nose dominated by red berry fruit, herbs and some flowers. It has some slightly rustic tannins, the oak is not noticeable, and the wine feels young and primary, clean and tasty. 15,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2023."
