Winemaker extraordinaire Sabrine Rodems is blessed with incredible fruit from the winery’s famed estate vineyard – San Saba. As an intro to her style, she dials back the oak so the gorgeous fruit can shine! And shine it does!
Aromas of cherries, raspberries and rose petals lead into flavors of the same – emphasis on the fruit – along with a backdrop of spicecake. What I love about this wine is how focused it is – the fruit is in all of its glory, yet the wine has fine tannins that back it up. It’s just pure... JOY!
Wrath Description
“With a name meaning “out of” in Latin, EX speaks to our focus on expressing the personality and characteristics of our Certified Sustainable (SIP) estate vineyard. These grapes are some of the first harvested from our estate vineyard and the wine is produced with minimal handling so that the result reflects a focus on the pure flavor of sustainably grown grapes from our estate San Saba Vineyard. Upfront cherry and spice aromas lead to flavors of red fruit, spice and a touch of earthiness all bound by clean tannins. Oak aging is kept to only 20% new so that there is some depth added from the barrels but the focus remains on the personality of our estate fruit.”
