"Le Reveur", translated as "The Dreamer", is a reference to Guillaume & Kelly Gonnet’s vision to chart their own course. Guillaume is the grandson of Etienne Gonnet, founder of Font de Michelle, and still runs the family winery. But he wanted to deviate a bit and explore the “terroir effect” by following biodynamic agricultural principles, ensuring the wine is balanced, soft with elegant tannins and very little wood influence. Guillaume has always been fascinated by the notion of “terroir”, most notably about how the Southern Rhône varieties express themselves in diverse terroir.
80% Grenache with 20% Syrah, this is a classic Cotes du Rhone! Notes of bright cherry with hints of spice, it's a beautiful bistro wine that's great for simple summer meals! The spice components are what kick this into overdrive- hints of anise, white pepper, and wildflowers make it shine with Sichuan food! Sure, you could break out the wok and whip up some Kung Pao or Mapo Doufu, but this wine won't mind if you just order takeout!
Wine Spectator: 90 Points
"This is an exuberant, full-bodied Côtes du Rhône, with warm black plum and melted black licorice spiked with juniper and black pepper. Offers juicy deliciousness, with no rough edges, on an open-knit frame. There's a burst of freshness and herbs on the bright finish. Grenache and Syrah. Drink now. 8,000 cases made, 4,000 cases imported."
